WHAT IS PSYCHOMETRIC TESTING?
Psychometric testing is a practice that is widely used though out industry that measures a variety of characteristics including mental agility, aptitude, personality etc.
Put simply, psychometric testing is a set of techniques which ensure, among other things, that you are testing what you think you are testing. for example:
written test of mathematics should be testing maths, not writing.
Your test gives the same results, if it’s given to the same person twice or administered by different people.
Psychometric testing helps you to support the accuracy of your decision
It’s fair to everyone.
You know how accurate the measure is and how far you can depend on it.
McQuaig is an Ipsative assessment which compares an individual with him or herself. In other words, what they prefer.
It is widely accepted that the cost off recruiting a new person into an organisation costs at least £8,000* when all factors are taken into account and if they don't succeed in the role, this cost falls straight to the bottom line and the process starts again!
A CV is typically a gross indicator of whether a person has been successful in past roles and gained experience, but it is not a reliable indicator of future success. The McQuaig psychometric system provides the recruiting manager with clearer understanding of the candidates personality traits,
without just relying a CV. It will also provide the recruiter with structured questions for the interviewer to explore their fit for the role.
Understanding the whole person, not just the CV and their appearance is key to a successful hire and candidate. There are no right or wrong answers, but it will give you strong and accurate indication of the persons preferred behaviours.
